WHAT IS iCOAST?Founded in 1998, iCoast is a regional non-partisan organization of business, government, education and community leaders dedicated to strengthening the competitiveness of Southeast Florida.

VISION: Create a world-class science and technology-based hub in the Southeast Florida region.

MISSION: Facilitate investment and drive regional economic growth through social innovation, education, university research, entrepreneurship and a knowledge-based workforce.

GEOGRAPHY: The iCoast region is the 6th largest metropolitan statistical area in the United States with more than 5.1 million people. The geographic area includes all of Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast.

STRUCTURE: The iCoast includes a board and 12 committees that serve as a forum to address regional issues, track progress and establish the overall direction of the organization.

GOVERNANCE: The InternetCoast Economic Development Advisory Council, or "iCoast" as it is now known, is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization led by a board of 34 business, government, education and community leaders that convene on a regular basis.

BUDGET & FUNDING: iCoast has been primarily funded through federal, state, local and private foundation grants totaling well in excess of $2.3 million to date.
