Job: Web Developer

We are looking for a Senior Web Developer. This role will participate in the full development life-cycle for all web-enabled, middleware, client-server, and mobile application in a Microsoft technology environment. The position calls for a creative and innovative individual that works well independently or in a team environment. Also, the applicant must be customer service oriented and demonstrate sound business/technical knowledge, self-motivation work ethic, project management, organization, and discipline. Good oral and written communications along with well-developed analytical thinking competencies are critical for success. The Senior Web Developer will work with a small team of developers and interface directly with business team sponsors in a very aggressive, fast-paced production environment. Therefore, a high-level of professionalism and integrity is expected.

*Experience in the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry is desired but not required.

Duties:

Complete development life cycle (coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support) in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.

Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments.

Web development for all areas of .NET software architecture - UI, business objects and database development.

Development of new systems with minimum maintenance requirements, as well as provide support and enhancement for existing systems.

Develop .NET services for communicating with 3rd party systems.

Define system scope and objective by creating detailed documentation of the project specifications based on user requirement

Develop site content and graphics - designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.

Responsible for designing and installing security measures.

A BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

4+ years of hands-on experience developing with ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, AJAX, CSS and HTML

4+ years of hands-on experience developing Web-based and N-tier applications

3+ years of hands-on experience of Web Services, XML, SOAP and JAVA / VB SCRIPT

4+ years of hands-on experience of database concepts/functions (stored procedures, views, DTS packages, SSIS, SQL Reporting Services, and Analysis Services, etc…) for MS SQL Server 2005, 2008

Expert in Microsoft Visual Studio Suite of Tools with an in-depth knowledge of .NET framework

Knowledge of version control methods and applications (VSS) eCommerce skills and security experience

Experience in the mobile space will be helpful

Strong hands on knowledge of Object-Oriented and/or Service-Oriented methodologies and tools

Understanding browser capabilities and ability for browser independent development

Proven ability to carry a large development task from concept to completion

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface with customers
